We humans are attracted to things that are not fully explained.
Not everything has to fit.
In fact, it is almost always what is different that remains in the memory.

There is something about imperfection that lingers.
In the dirty, in the broken, in what is not supposed to be liked.

Denying it doesn't make it disappear.

And if something attracts you even if it's frowned upon, who cares? You're going to die anyway.
